Spring 2019 Kids
This year we bred three does to our new buck, Spinning Spider Prodigal Son (we call him “Sonny,” he seems to like it). We bought Sonny last year from Spinning Spider Creamery in Marshall, North Carolina. We are thrilled to bring his Tempo Aquila genetics into our herd.
We bred two of our best producers, Julia and Ruby, to Spinning Spider Prodigal Son . We did this same breeding last year and were thrilled with the does Julia, Ruby, and Sonny produced.
In her first freshening this year, we also bred Acorn, a doeling out of Enna, one of our most productive but now retired does, and Barnabas who is a beautiful buck we purchased in 2015 from Tunnel’s End Dairy in Harpursville, NY.
Spinning Spider Prodigal Son Pedigree
Ruby kidded on April 6, 2019, and gave birth to a doeling and a buckling. We are keeping the doeling but accepting offers on the buckling. We believe he will make a good herd sire as he has excellent genetics from Soldier Mountain and Tempo Aquila lines. His dam is an excellent producer for us and has produced over 14lbs/day during peak lactation. He is being bottle raised on his dam’s milk and socialized to people and children.
